Advanced technology
SCL represents the family of large diameter Specialty RGP Lenses developed by TSLAC to offer professionals a variety of application solutions.
The entire SCL range is made with high gas permeability polymers (DK 100-125-200×10⁻¹¹ISO/Fatt) to guarantee adequate corneal metabolic requirements and ensure comfort and safety during application.
Types
Born from design experience and clinical needs, the SCL line is the result of contact lens research aimed at overcoming the critical issues and corrective difficulties of corneal-scleral and haptic lenses.
SCL Sferic and Aspherical
Tangential and multicurve designs, with spherical and aspherical profiles, to manage the different requirements of corneo-scleral and scleral fitting. The diameters and dimensions of the receptive chamber allow for greater uniformity in the landing zones and correct distribution of limbal lift.
SCL Front Toric
The toric front surface (TE), with dynamic stabilisation, compensates for internal astigmatism (due to the shape of the posterior cornea) and residual astigmatism. All lenses are marked with reference points that identify the position of the axis in order to manage the cylindrical correction and any over-refractions.
SCL Free Form
The inner surface adapts to the toricity and asymmetry of the sclera, and the Free-Form (FF) rear profile has specific sagittal data for each hemimeridian. The shape of the chamber can be circular or elliptical depending on the morphological characteristics of the eye, and toricity can be differentiated in the limbal and peripheral areas.
SCL Multifocals
All SCL lenses can be combined with the multifocal module for presbyopia compensation. The visual benefits derive from the stability of application and centring, typical features of large-diameter LACs, which reduce interference between the various power zones during blinking.
