General concepts
The SoClear® family includes American-designed corneo-scleral RGP lenses, manufactured by TSLAC to support professionals with expertise in this specific area of application.
Design
The SoClear® design allows the lens pressure to be distributed evenly across both the corneal and scleral surfaces, offering an effective combination of vision benefits and comfort. The appropriate selection and correct adaptation of geometries, STD for normal corneas, K for keratoconus and PS for post-surgery, allow for the management of different ocular situations in which the use of scleral lenses cannot be implemented.
Geometries
When the peripheral area aligns correctly with the sclera, the eyelids cover the edges of the lens, offering superior comfort compared to traditional corneal RGPs.
Instructions for use
The different types are designed to manage:
- Regular, spherical and astigmatic corneas
- Presbyopia and associated ametropia
- Early-stage keratoconus and irregular corneas
- Post-refractive surgery
Types of SoClear Lenses
SoClear K
Greater stability during application (less movement) reduces direct mechanical action on the ectatic area.
SoClear PS
Their special design facilitates centred lens positioning and promotes stable vision.
SoClear STD
Standard spheres are adapted under normal conditions to minimise any dryness issues with soft lenses, offering high levels of comfort and vision. The trial lens is selected using a trial set.
