The RGP Pilota lens is the key to successful contact lens fitting; every professional can develop one or more projects, verifying the effectiveness of the results after an adaptation period of a few weeks, up to a maximum of 60 days.
Professional
The aims of the pilot projects are ultimately achieved in 85% of applications (data processed by TSLAC in the period 2010–2018).
Bearer
The possibility of an adjustment period to safely test the effectiveness of the lens, with only the professional costs associated with the application process to be covered.

Production range
PILOTA geometric options offer a wide range of parameters: Spherical, Toric and Multifocal designs, as well as customised solutions for Keratoconus, Asymmetric and Inverse lenses, including those designed by the applicator. All PILOTA lenses are manufactured in medium-high Dk with the highest quality standards to optimise fit.
This colour was chosen to assist new wearers in the initial stages of adaptation, allowing the fitter to provide a temporary lac that can be evaluated and monitored during scheduled check-ups.
Traceability and markings
Each PILOTA is marked with the production batch, an alphanumeric code that identifies the project and allows all the parameters of the lac to be traced:
- On Toric and Asymmetric lenses, reference lines are engraved, which are essential indicators for assessing the positioning of the axis.
- In Internal Toric designs, there are 2 lines that identify the Kp, while in TE and ASIM there are 3 with an angular interval of 15°.
