RGP Design 3L

The evolution of spherical and toric corneal RGPs

New frontier of RGP

The 3L Design is an innovation that simplifies the use of RGPs, promoting successful application.
The project stems from topographical studies and analysis of the clinical aspects and critical issues typical of rigid gas permeable corneal lenses.

Comfort, vision, stability and versatility are the cornerstones of the 3L application system, which allows for easier compensation of all spherical and astigmatic ametropia and presbyopia.

The 3L design has an evolving eccentricity, whose nominal value e = 0.50 is inspired by corneal morphology. The alignment of the lens over a larger surface area produces a more uniform distribution of support, promoting subjective sensitivity, adaptation and wearability.

Optimised optical zones reduce visual interference as pupil aperture varies. The aspheric geometry conforms to the physiological parameters of the cornea, allowing for more natural compensation of spherical and astigmatic ametropia.

The use of large diameters, generally between 10.20 and 10.80 mm, facilitates positioning and eyelid retention, ensuring controlled movement when blinking. Coverage, with a ratio of approximately 85-90% on the HVID, is the key element for the centring and stability of 3L lenses.

The 3L Custom version allows the practitioner to directly intervene in the lens prescription, defining the eccentricity value in relation to the corneal meridian pattern. The ability to prescribe the characteristic parameters of aspheric RGP lenses allows large diameters to be applied without affecting the base curve, thereby optimising the fit.
